Cheekbone Soft-Tissue Liposuction

Cheekbone Soft Tissue

We distinguish whether a wide-looking cheekbone comes from bone, or from the soft tissue, subcutaneous fat, and fibrotic fat around the cheekbone. This is soft-tissue contouring that preserves the volume to keep — not bone-shaving surgery.

Bone vs Soft Tissue

We look at soft tissue, not bone

Distinguishing bone from soft tissue

We first distinguish whether a wide-looking cheekbone comes from bone structure, the soft tissue and subcutaneous fat around the cheekbone, or fibrotic fat. This is a different approach from bone-shaving surgery of the cheekbone itself.

Designing to preserve the volume to keep

Over-reducing cheekbone soft tissue can make the mid-face look hollow. Looking at the upper-outer facial width and the cheekbone-to-cheek transition, we design the volume to preserve together.

Checking skin elasticity and mid-face transition

We look together at the thickness of the subcutaneous fat layer, skin elasticity, and the transition from below the cheekbone into the cheek. If elasticity is insufficient, tightening can be considered as a complement.

Concern about a wide, heavy look around the cheekbone
Your Concern

If your cheekbones look wide and heavy

It may be the flesh and soft tissue around the cheekbone — not the cheekbone itself — that makes the face look wide and heavy. We check together cases that do not reduce easily with dieting.

Bone vs Soft Tissue

We distinguish bone from soft tissue by layer

Cheekbone concerns can be a mix of bone structure, subcutaneous fat, fibrotic fat, and skin elasticity. We distinguish the cause with layer analysis and then decide direction — if bone is the main cause, we do not recommend liposuction alone.

We also check fibrotic fat

Firmly fibrotic soft tissue differs in approach from ordinary fat. We check the layer and thickness with ultrasound and preserve the volume to keep so the mid-face does not look hollow.

We design while preserving the mid-face transition

We look together at the cheekbone-to-cheek transition and skin elasticity, and design conservatively so over-reduction does not make the face look hollow.

FAQ

Cheekbone Soft-Tissue Liposuction FAQ

In consultation, we distinguish bone structure, subcutaneous fat, fibrotic fat, and skin elasticity through palpation and ultrasound layer analysis. If bone is the main cause, we do not recommend liposuction alone and advise an accurate diagnostic direction.

This page focuses on the soft tissue around and on the upper-outer face near the cheekbone. Cheek and lower-face volume is covered in cheek liposuction. The two differ in location and layer, so we distinguish the main axis in consultation.

Over-reducing can make the mid-face look hollow, so we design conservatively. We look together at the volume to preserve and prioritize a natural mid-face contour.
