A small face isn't the same as a balanced face. True facial beauty comes from the 1:1:1 ratio of forehead, mid-face, and lower face — combined with the right volume in the right places.
The rule of thirds
The ideal facial ratio divides the face into three equal thirds: forehead (upper), eyes-to-nose (mid), and mouth-to-chin (lower). When this proportion breaks down, the face can appear elongated, the forehead too wide, or the chin too short. NB measures your actual ratios with analysis photos in consultation.
Volume vs contouring
Facial improvement generally works in one of two directions. Volume deficiency (flat face, hollow cheeks) is addressed with fat grafting. Strong contours (prominent cheekbones, wide jaw) are refined with facial liposuction or contouring. Most patients benefit from a combination of both.
NB's standard of natural
NB's facial design philosophy is 'no signs of surgery.' Rather than dramatic transformation, the goal is the kind of improvement where people around you notice you look better — without being able to say why. Digital analysis and direct surgeon consultation before any procedure ensures we have a precise plan.
