Why This Happens
Why does this happen?
A face that reads as large is less about actual size than about dimension and proportion. Uneven volume and an indistinct contour are what make a face look larger. When the cheeks flatten, or the forehead, cheeks and chin fall out of proportion, the face looks flat — and therefore larger. Restoring dimension and proportion matters more than making the face smaller.
Body Structure
Facial size is a question of proportion and dimension
The face is composed of the proportions between forehead, cheeks and chin. Too little or too much volume in any one of them makes the face read as large or flat. Rather than simply adding or removing volume, the proportions of the whole face are assessed and the plan works toward restoring balance — which is what makes a face look naturally smaller.
NB Solution
Rebalancing facial proportion and dimension together
The forehead, cheek and chin proportions are assessed, then designed as a whole
